When inviting a customer for a Zoom meeting today I had received another “We are not allowed to use Zoom – can we use Teams instead?“. If you too are suffering from this nonsense – show this to your security or your boss and let the pictures speak for themselves. And if that still would not help – make sure to read the Final Point.
Zoom – security controls when scheduling a meeting

Zoom – security controls in-meeting

MS Teams – security controls when scheduling a meeting

MS Teams – security controls in-meeting

Summary
Do we really need it?

Final point
NONE of the above matters when you participate in a meeting organized by someone else! If they had set up a meeting with poor security, you may be bombed, recorded and otherwise abused REGARDLESS of the tool allowed/banned. And the fact that Zoom puts the security options in your face, while Teams hides it, doesn’t make it any better.
So yes, banning Zoom makes total sense…
Appendix. MS Teams options you will not…
